Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society Home > About VMSS

The Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society was incorporated in 1978 by a group of ship modellers who wanted to share ideas and experiences and enjoy the company of others in the hobby.

It has grown to between 50 to 80 modellers who still value the original aims of the society. The type of ships modelled have changed as many members like to operate their models by radio control.

The crest was adopted by the charter members.

A club pennant adopted in 1998 shows white to reflect the sails of our sailing members and a propeller in blue represents the members who operate powered models.
New Members are always welcome.

All that you require is an interest in ships and ship modelling. There are no secret handshakes or rituals. We have fun by meeting, operating our models and participating in some selected community events and sharing friendship with others in this hobby.

Members receive our monthly newsletter (the Binnacle) and access to our library of books, magazines and plans. In addition, members get to meet others with the same hobby to share ideas and exchange knowledge.

Individual memberships are $35 per calendar year. In addition, a family membership is available at $50.
